What You May Not Be Aware About Birthday Party Planning

Planning a party, even a birthday party for kids, should not be too hard as long as you stick with the basics. Make sure the guests attend, serve good food and make the theme great.

Send the Invitations

First, you have to know that the party preparations start rolling when you send out the invitations. Planning for the invites will also help you decide how many chairs to rent. Every guest should correspond to one seat. Prepare for when people bring along other guests. In case some people bring other friends, you have to make allowances. It’s not like you can turn away guests during the party itself.

Invitation sending will make sure you have people to serve. Guests are important to any party. The schedule you choose for your party must fit the schedule of guests.

Decor

The decor should be according to what’s in right now. Know your fairy tales and the popular cartoon characters at the moment. Kids like to have their favorite cartoon characters around when they celebrate. Toy Story and Cars are great themes.

Food for Serving

The menu should be related with the theme of the party. You are preparing for kids so make sure they can eat all that you put out. You should not serve raw foods like sushi or spicy food. If you’re planning a party for kids, finger foods work well. Spaghetti is also a classic but kids tend to make a mess with this food. Drinks can be served buffet style. You should also provide a place for grown-ups. When you plan your menu, you have to consider the time of day. A buffet lunch should comprise all food groups. You can relax more if you serve snacks instead of major meals. Sweets are great for dessert, but not as main courses. Ice cream melts in any weather so you should serve ice cream last.
